About canvasesbegone

I saw a need living in a retirement community and talking with friends who had a lot of “STASH” and did not know what to do with it.  We decided we were slowly moving into those “golden years” and would never get all of those items stitched.  All of a sudden our children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews had not only grown up but out grown all of the canvases we were going to stitch for them.  I had a thought of how to turn that “Stash into Cash”.

I started experimenting with my own things first.  Word got out that I was selling “like new items” on EBay.  First someone in my needlepoint class asked, then someone from a needlepoint guild.  My inventory began to grow and I decided with the help from my husband, David to start a web site.

First order of business was to come up with a name.  My dear and supportive husband came up with CanvasesBeGone and we were off and running.  The next big event came in July/August issue of Needlepoint Now a magazine that reaches over 10,000 people with a wonderful article about our “little business”.  We have experienced some growing pains since our web site was not equipped to hold the over 1,600 items we have for sale.

Now in 2010 we have a more efficient web site for your shopping pleasure.  Please add us to your favorites and check back with us often.  On a daily basis, we receive new inventory that is added to our web site.  By the end of February the books and cross stitch kits will be added also.
